BURKE Industrial Coatings metal primer coatings are formulated to prime steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel and to provide added protection from corrosion and chemical attack in harsh environments. Our industrial-grade primers contain pacifiers and rust inhibitors that stop premature degradation in its tracks and contribute to a longer service life of metal for manufacturing and maintenance operations. With superior adhesion properties, our primers prevent chipping, cracking and peeling to promote optimal performance. Fast drying with low VOC’s and low odors, our primers are well suited for plant maintenance, OEM operations, or any fast-paced industrial environment – interior or exterior.

Anti-Microbial Coatings

The key to the BURKE Antimicrobial coating efficacy is the inclusion of Agion® Antimicrobial Technology within the epoxy. Agion was engineered to release its antimicrobial capabilities only in the presence of harmful microbes. When the surface of the epoxy is dry and clean, Agion particles are inactive. But in the presence of bacteria and microbes, Agion activates and the silver and copper elements attack and kill the contaminants leaving the surface germ-free.

Both the coating’s design and its testing criteria reflect BURKE’s recognition of the need for a “broad-brush” solution to microbial contamination in human and environmental situations.

Stainless Steel Coatings

Functionally inert, stainless steel blocks further migration of moisture, oxygen, and chemicals, which combine to foster rust, mold, mildew and other decay processes that attack metal fixtures, fittings and machinery. Whether applied to non-stainless metal surfaces, including galvanized tin, wood or concrete, BURKE stainless steel coatings strengthen surface resistance to all kinds of damage. Protection against UV exposure exceeds the performance of all other materials on the market.

Coatings exist for indoor and outdoor surfaces, minimizing downtime for repairs or restoration. Water-based primers and topcoats eliminate long fume-laced cure-periods, preventing exposure of workers and the environment to potentially toxic chemicals. Solvent-based Alloy products meet nationally-based VOC requirements and formulations are available for states with very specific VOC requirements. Alloy Bonds products assure a safe, sanitary work-surface, whether you’re dealing with assembly, packing, processing, and wrapping, for chemicals, metals, plastics, foods, liquids or other materials. Short dry-times let work resume more quickly and let heavily-used facilities, equipment and areas go back to active duty fast.

Specialty Coatings & Primers

BURKE primers may be top-coated with a multitude of industrial coatings, and when combined with any of our high-performance stainless steel or non-metallic topcoats, provide a complete system of products.

Metal Cleaners

BC 4000 is a general-purpose alkaline metal cleaner and degreaser that is vastly superior to solvents when prepping metal for painting. For industrial use, it is economical as this used as nine parts water to 1 part cleaner for most metal cleaning applications. Our environmentally biodegradable cleaner acts by emulsifying any grease and oil on the metal surface. Just spray or wipe it on and wash off with clean water or wipe off with clean, lint-free rags. It is safe for use on all metals.
